Srikaanth Sarangapani
Founder and Director

Srikaanth Sarangapani has 32 years of experience of which 27+ years have been in the renewable Energy sector (Wind and Solar). He has hands- on experience in conceptualization, establishing the complete value chain for various wind turbine models from 250KW to 2.5MW.

His contribution in C-WET certification and enrollment of KIPL in Revised List of Models and Manufacturers (RLMM list) has been invaluable. He has written many articles in magazines like Energetica India,IWTMA magazine on technology, certification,Operation and Maintenance ,product related etc. He has participated in CII exhibition cum conference as a Guest speaker and many renewable Energy conferences .

A graduate in Mechanical Engineering and qualified in Quality Management from Madras productivity council & Project management (Primavera 6.2), he started his career in 1988 moving through various engineering industries like foundry, electrical component manufacturing, fabrication and erection of structural for thermal power plants.

A multitalented professional, with sound knowledge of ISO systems, Quality management concepts, PLM, Project execution and good coordination skills.

His career path spans through North Madras Thermal Power Project, Indian Institution of Quality Assurance, Suzlon, and Hindustan Zinc.
He has been associated with Kenersys right from its conceptualization, where his in-depth knowledge on operations in India and environmental conditions, instrumental in designing the K82 – 2.0MW turbine offered by Kenersys.

How much Capacity of Solar is possible to be installed on Your Roof-Top.?

This depends on the shadow free roof space area available and your monthly power consumption.
Solar is nowadays possible to feed the loads like motors/pumps, lights, fans, Air conditioners, Geysers, Mixies, grinders,kettle, oven etc . Load details are collected from the consumer along with the detailed site feasibility study to decide the capacity and type of solar system There are different types of systems possible viz., On grid ,off grid and hybrid. Sunwind Eco have the experience to decide right type of systems suited to your requirements so that the customer is getting what he needs. The return on investment for solar system is approximately 5 years. With net-metering mechanism fo state utilities , the customer can be given an option to export it to the grid for which the utilities adjust the excess generation in their monthly /bi monthly power bill. Sunwind Eco can work on various business models with their associates viz., BOOT (Build Own Operate and Transfer ) Opex model, Capex model ,finance leasing.

We are ready to work with various customers across various states by taking advantage of the favorable solar policies. SunWind Eco is ready to assist customers to get financial support from the investment bank or registered financial institution for the funds and coordinate to submit documentation required.

Wind and solar plants can be set up for self-consumption through investments from the consuming entity. Doing so provides additional benefits and removes certain risks over the traditional 3rd party model, including imposition of cross-subsidy surcharge.

a. Verification of the Land documents (ownership,designated as agri land - should have at least applied for NA conversion if it is an agri land).
b. Proximity of land to forest c. environmental clearances and pollution control board clearance!).
d. Land location with respect to substation and how the evacuation will happen (write-up on transmission line and how it is proposed to be implemented).
e. The design of plant (at least a rough layout) and the expected output over time (for the life of the plant - at least for the first few years we need to show an estimate of how much of energy can be extracted).
f. Assumptions used for the design (irradiation data, wind velocity, rain statistics etc.), whether seasonal variation in irradiation has been taken into account, etc.
g. Agreement with solar module supplier and their guarantees, warranties and performance (degradation) expected.
h. Similarly for inverters,and whether they are designed for Indian conditions.
i. Selectino of proper major equipment used (such as transformers, cables etc.)
j. Customs for imported items - how are the logistics arranged....
k. PPA, and whether the evacuation is for DC watts installed, AC watts (if so where - at the plant or at the substation, since there can be losses in the cabling).
l. Proper design of the back up system to meet/exceed those conditions.

Health care centres

Net metering is not mandatory. However, it ensures that you maximize your savings from solar. Net metering allows you to sell excess (unconsumed) power generated back to the grid.

For example, if on a given day you generated 10 units from solar and consumed only 7 units, the balance 3 units will be sold back to the grid and adjusted against your monthly bill.

1 kWp solar system requires approximately 10 sq. m (or 100 sq. ft) of shadow-free area.

For installing an off-grid solar system, no permits are required. However, to install an on-grid system, you need to take approval from DISCOM for grid connectivity. We will guide you to get all necessary approvals.

A 1KWp plant generates an average of 4 units of electricity in a day.
